Sir Joshua and Filho da Puta: Rematado por apenas 600£.
1035. After James Pollard Sir Joshua and Filho da Puta, The Race at Newmarket the 15th of April, 1816, aquatint with hand-colouring, by Charles Rosenberg, [Siltzer p.213], 1816, Edward Orme, 330 x 385mm (15 x 15 1/4 in) *** Both horses were fine champions of their day, so it was a natural wager between the new owner of Filho da Puta, Mr Thomas Houldsworth, who had paid 3,000 guineas for him, and the Hon. R. Neville, owner of Sir Joshua, to see which was the finest. Despite rearing at the start, and stumbling on the course at Newmarket, Filho da Puta managed to lose only by a neck. Condition report: Trimmed within the platemark, but well outside the image and text, mounted on ruled support.
est. £600 – £800
